Lufthansa history

Lufthansa was established in 1926 but only got its present name in 1933. Its network expanded substantially in the 30s but until 1945 wartime air services, except for a few European countries, were suspended. All flights were discontinued in 1945. n the 50s, the Federal Transport Minister sets up a working committee in 1951 to prepare for the resumption of air traffic in post-war Germany. A new company for air services was established-Luftag. The company is renamed "Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaft" in 1954, and begins operations the following year.
